This year’s summer safari in Crail, meticulously prepared by Arthur, was a popular choice with all of us and the welcome coffee breaks and lunches were great forums for discussing our different approaches and picking up hints from one another.
Undertaking a safari is always a challenge, trying to co-ordinate a date suitable for our 6 members and balancing weather prospects with tide times and bin collection days! It’s also a lot of fun and a great chance to explore local areas through a different lens (or lenses:)
We opted for a date in early summer, a tad on the sunny side so coping with the light was even more of a challenge but (theoretically )giving us loads of time for editing images! Our system of using a shared Google drive file makes uploading and reviewing images easy and marking is efficient due to an Excel spreadsheet. This is followed up by a review meeting on Zoom to decide any tied images and to suggest any improvements to the winning shots. Finally in the bag, they’re fired over to Ken by WeTransfer to be collated with the other entries. Well done to all the teams and “roll on” the winter safari!
